I am so disgusted! I was diagnosed 10 years ago with Hyperinsulinemia. Due to this condition I have had very little control over my weight gain. About 3 years ago I finally put my foot down, I had been told I would never have children, and after all the infertility treatments over ten years I decided it was time for me to just focus on my health. I started taking my Glucophage regularly and went on the diet that I was prescribed. I dropped 87 lbs. I was getting very close to my goal when I got the shock of a life time...I was pregnant! During my pregnancy I was taken off the Glucophage, then told I had to eat carbs. I was sent to another dietitian that gave me a diet to follow. This diet resulted in me gaining 70 lbs, and developing severe hypoglycemia. My OB was dumbfounded, he had never heard of such a bizzare development. My blood sugar was a constant battle, it ran between 20 and 50. After having my daughter I went back on the Glucophage and had lost 50 lbs. Then another blow, my daughter was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. With all the stress, I gained! I have to deal with many medical expenses for her, and could not afford my own. I ran out of Glucophage about 4 months ago, and cannot afford to go to the doctor. I do have health insurance for myself as it cost too much. I have now been on my diet since June, I have not cheated and maintain a strict workout schedule. I do Taebo everyday! I have lost only a total of 7 lbs in 2 1/2 months. This is an impossible battle without my Glucophage. I am so disgusted, I push so hard and give it my all, and no results! I know I need the Glucophage, but we are saving our money for an appointment for my daughter to go to the CP center in St. Louis. This just isn't working without it. I ended up eating everything I could get my hands on tonight, luckily everything in the house is low-carb. But I am at a loss, I don't know what to do anymore. I just needed to vent.

You came to the right place to vent. You know what, though, you ARE losing. That is great! It may take a while but at least you are going in the right direction. Good job!
