doug0964's Journal, 20 April 2013

All new battle, all new conditions.

Last month I lost my wife to an out of the blue heart attack. I've been in a cast on my foot since January and just was taken out of that. So inactivity and comfort food and a total lack of caring about anything put me here.

I didn't gain it back all in the past few months, but It didn't take long to add enough weight to make all my pants tight again.

I'm broken. Last night was the one month since I lost her. It was a bad day and an even worse night.

But today I am looking at the sun rise and trees in the back yard are bathed in the sun's light. If I can make good choices to be able to see the sun rise, I can easily make the right food choices.

I just read your journal entry and I'm in tears. I couldn't imagine your pain of losing your wife. I can feel your pain regarding your weight and struggles with that. It's so hard. I have been fighting with my weight essentially my whole life. I will pray for you. I will try and send you strength and courage to fight this battle. Easier said than done but all we can do is take it one hour at a time to one day at a time until it becomes a new lifestyle for us. Good luck to you, sir. Again I'm so sorry for your loss.
