Day 3 of changing the way that I eat. I find that slim fast works pretty well for me working on the night shift. My appetite isn't that strong at night, and I have learned how powerful that healthy snacks are at keeping the strong hunger at bay. That and drinking lots of water. I actually squeezed in some exercise before making dinner. It was tough and I was only able to go for about 10 minutes, but its a start and I'm going to keep at it. I've been able to stay away from the scales. My aim is to only weigh myself on Saturdays.

Congrats on 3 days down! Technically I'm not following SlimFast anymore but I did for the first couple months & occasionally use the shakes & bars if I'm in a rush or want to keep my calories low on a particular day. You are so right about the healthy snacks, I get kind of snacky before bed sometimes & find that stuff like Greek yogurt or Kashi with milk keeps the appetite in check. And you are also right on point with the water. Out of pure dumb luck I decided to start increasing my water intake at the same time I started SlimFast, which was fortuitous because it really helped control the appetite. Good job on the exercise too, I will warn you though that once I started exercising more regularly & increasing the intensity, my appetite increased way more than the SlimFast stuff could handle, so I am back to "regular" food now & just keep track of calories. And as a man, you generally burn calories faster than a woman of your size would, so you will have room to increase the intake when you need to. When I started the SlimFast I was keeping the calories around 1800 or less, but after ramping up the exercise a couple months later I was able to increase it to about 2000 & continue losing. No sense in being hungry & miserable if I don't have to, right? Anyway, don't pressure yourself too much to exercise if you're just starting out with changing the eating habits. I didn't, & somewhere in my 2nd month I got more secure with the new way I was eating so at that point I was just ready to work on the next thing. Keep up the great work, & keep hangin around here, & you'll do just fine. :D

When I worked nights, I did Slim Fast too. I kept it as a snack about an hour and a half before shift was over. It help me not want to stop at Burger King or McDonalds to grab a breakfast sandwich on the way home. Keep up the good work.
