Insulin, we need to keep it low to lose fat. To not spike insulin we have to keep carbs low, particularly sugar and anything refined/processed. Here is a very cool photo from Dr Ben Bikman of an elderly Type 1 Diabetic that needs to administer exogenous insulin to survive, as Type 1s do not make any of their own insulin. Look at the injection sites over time! Fascinating. Years of obesity and yo-yo dieting result in insulin resistance and damaged metabolism. It is a slow, but doable road to health. I have dietary insulin under control, but I still suffer from Cortisol which also keeps insulin up. Bah! Anyone out there use meditation successfully to control stress?
