I've tried for over two years to stick with Atkins and have often fallen off the track which makes me feel awful again and again. I recently started going to the gym 4-5 times a week doing cardio and strength training every time and I feel much better. The downfall is that because I can't stick with Atkins I am not burning fat for energy so my reserves burn out quickly. The good thing about Atkins is that I do get a lot of protein so I will be keeping that up.

I hope with a low GI diet I won't feel bad about eating an apple or pear and I've recently discovered the joys of beans and green lentils which I know are good for me so I'm just going to try to enjoy the healthy food I eat rather than feel guilty for eating too many beans! Crazy!

The Plan:
High Protein
Being very skimpy with good fats
Embracing lots of vegetables
Eating at least one portion of legumes or beans every day
Jumbo oats for breakfast
Avoiding sugars like the plague!

I have 8 weeks until I want my wedding dress to sit just right. I am not weighing myself much at all due to the amount of muscle I want to gain but I will be measuring myself lots. Anyway, here goes.

I have started a low gi diet and bought a book that really clarified it for me so that it is easy to follow. I have a habit of not eating regularly and now find I am eating all the time takes a bit of planning. the book was called The complete Idiots guide Glycemic index cookbook. hope that helps
