So, I think I came up with a good analogy to moderate-high carb diets vs. keto. Which is better for fat loss? Bicycling slowly or bicycling quickly over the same distance? Slow cardio is good for fat burning and maybe a little glycogen burning, fast biking would be better for glycogen burning(and a little fat burning) but are they not the same at the end of the day/week/month for overall body fat loss? The same thing applies to a diet that is carb-rich and a diet that is carb-poor. With the former, you burn stored glycogen-stored fat and in the latter, you burn maybe a minute amount of glycogen but mostly stored body fat. You replace the burned glycogen with carbs and replace the stored fat with dietary fat. At the end of the day/week/month, your net energy intake vs. burn is what determines net body fat loss/gain.
There is more to it like if you got enough protein to support muscle retention/gain and if you're doing resistance training. Those two factors will also determine the finished product, but that wasn't the point.
Is this another foggy carb brain blunder of a post or is it ok? :P

I’ve been doing low carb, and there is no magic to it. My blood sugar has drastically improved, but the weight loss benefit is mainly just thinking about what you eat and quantifying it. Eating less carbs means naturally eating less calories.

Hey I'm glad you're having success but less fat equals the same thing.
