I hate shopping! The stores differ in size so greatly that you can come out of one store absolutely depressed b/c the size you thought you were doesn't fit at all! I'm a size 16 at most stores yet at Sears nothing in that size fit! Aargh! I'm going to have to try again some time when I'm less rushed. I will have to leave my son with his dad and get some alone time.

Clothing sizes vary so much from brand to brand. And a size 16 in the misses department is much different from a size 16 in the junior department. The same is true for our bodies - women of the same weight can vary widely in sizes even if they are relatively the same height. So don't let the number on the tag get you frazzled. You've lost 46 lbs and no clothing manufacturer can take that away from you. Enjoy the new, evolving you!

I'm almost a size 16 now, woohoo....and yes, I am 50 pounds heavier than you, so women's bodies and clothing sizes greatly vary. Just like you should not get down about your scale number the same applies to the clothing size. Focus on how far you have come and how great you feel, and buy your new clothes a size tighter so you have something to shrink into and look forward to. Kmart has good very inexpensive clothing for these times that we are shrinking and not at our final goal weight yet. Hint, the more expensive clothing usually will have you in a size smaller, how is that for psychological marketing?

Up here in Canada we don't have kmart anymore and since Walmart's clothes are probably made in China they are 2 sizes smaller than normal! I still don't fit into their XL! I know some store's sizes are smaller than others and that is frustrating! I'm going to try to look a little bit today and see what I can find. I'm 5'7 which is taller for a woman but I really don't want to have to go to the plus size store to find a dress. Oh yeah I went and their smallest size fits but it is a bit big in places.

Do you have a friend that can go with you shopping? That may make it easier to go if you have something to talk about and don't feel like you're boring your husband/son.

I HATE clothes shopping too... but, I have to tell you that I'm finding it more enjoyable now that I can try on clothes that are smaller than what I've worn in the past. It's especially fun to see that sizes/items I thought would fit me are too big! Ross and Marshall's are really good to go to also during these shrinking times. I can buy much more there for the price than I can elsewhere.
