My new students started yesterday, I already see this is going to be a trying year, out 20 students I have 4 students with special needs, 2 of them are nonverbal. I have lost count how many times one of them has attempted to hit, kick or bite me today. Not to mention the 3 students I have with behavior issues. This diffently going to be the year I request vacation time as much as possible since classroom is a year-round program and I really don't get a break.

Just learn to redirect behavior, watch for the antecedents and give them consequences and always provide clear, direct and visual instructions
