Good news! Since finding out that I was a borderline diabetic 3 months ago, my Dr gave me that 3 months to make a life style change.. My diet, exercise, and views on food itself has changed.. And I'm proud to say my big adjustments have paid off!! My a1c and blood sugar are all in normal ranges without any medications.. And my weight is going down. My Dr was so happy with me. We are going to keep checking it here and there, but no medication is needed, and

I DID IT!!

thank you everyone for your support and I can't wait to help others who may be on the same journey!

Congratulations!! However,I'm curious... what was the Dr going to do if you didn't turn it around?

FullaBella, I think the Dr would try to put you on meds. My Mom had to take meds for becoming a diabetic.

Thank you everyone! I feel so strong and empowered.. I am so glad my body could go back to healthy with out medicine. And honestly everyone in this site helped so much, with meal ideas and just keeping me going.. I'm not going to let my food habits go back to how they were, in fact it makes me want to drop my carbs more. Maybe my body would run more efficient with closer to 20 net carbs a day.. Just a thought

4 kids under 5— I bet your kids and your husband would thank you for what you are doing not only for yourself but for them.. They don’t want to grow up without a mom who can participate in their many adventures.

Getting the pre-diabetes diagnosis is what kicked me out of complacency. Best thing that ever happened to me.

Good for you. Gives me hope that I can do the same after 30 years of diabetes and obesity.

my doctor also told me that my blood sugars were high but is there a difference between blood sugars and A1c?
