wholefoodnut's Journal, 29 June 2019

I think my fitbit is not doing sleep correctly. It often says I went to bed much later than I did. Last night about 8pm--it says 10:30. Odd

Trying not to miss anything in my food tracking. I've been staying pretty close to on track. Not as much exercise as I should be getting but increasing that.

I managed to slice into the tip of my left index finder on Thursday night. It's pretty bad: Should have probably gone in for stitches, didn't. It's dang sore and annoying. Will have to go buy some rubber gloves so I can do my dishes. I didn't do much yesterday after work due to it, makes one realize how much we depend on our hands.

I have the next week off-the rain has quit for a few days but the temps in the high 90's and high humidity. Will try to work outside and make a dent in my overgrown yard and inside things when the heat takes over. I also picked up some parts for 3 of my vintage sewing machines that I'm working on restoring back to running beautifully (I hope). It's a learning process. Probably heading for my oldest's for a couple days (4th) as they live a couple hours away down by Truman Lake.

Tracking your food as accurately as possible is the most important thing. Exercise is beneficial but it is not essential for weight loss.

I feel ya on the sliced finger. Knicked a chunk out of the tip of my thumb Thursday slicing some cucumbers. Bled like crazy and it still aches. Hope yours heals soon! Hope you post pics of your restored sewing machines when you are finished. Would love to see them. Enjoy the yard work. Thinking about replanting some of my plants today before the heat takes over here too. Have a blessed da!

Rosio, for me no exercise no weight loss. Steroids for asthma have an affect on that. Ravyne, sorry about your thumb--that affects everything you do. Went outside 9am and the air is so thick it's hard to breathe. checked my phone and the weather app says 80% humidity not even a breeze. I think it will be inside for awhile today.

If that’s the case hopefully you are strength training 💪🏼

Yup strength, cardio and lately some yoga as it helps flares from an old SI injury. Back doing my TRX which uses your won body as weight and the routines I do combine strength and cardio.

Ravyne, I sliced mine on a tuna can Thursday night. got 4 stitches. what comes to the sleep tracking, my polar does actually good work distinguishing between sleeping and just laying in bed. I can be in bed at 9pm but watch videos or listen to teaching and finally fall asleep around midnight and it does usually record that correctly.

If you can do it soak that finger in a little alcohol for a bit It will help take the soreness away My aunt gave me this tip for paper cuts but actually helps any small wounds Mind you it will sting but helps so much I use it when my cat gets a little playful 😺

@yohoyoh - wow, Thursday was a bad day for finger cuts! Hope yours is feeling better. Mine has finally stopped throbbing. Been soaking it in a little colloidal silver twice a day and it has really helped. @gsn fan - wow, never thought to soak it in alchohol, but that sounds like a good idea to take the soarness away. Rubbing alchohol or the drinking kind though?

GSN, thanks but alcohol sounds terrifically painful at the moment--can sting like crazy: actually it will not be unwrapped for a couple of days. Might try it still wrapped up the when it dries add some more tea tree oil. Ravyne--the drinking kind is helping the pain LOL.

Ravine where do you get colloidal silver and what does it do?

Rubbing alcohol not drinking Lol

The weather is crazy!! It has gone from cool and rainy to steamy! Now my lungs do not like hot and humid and bad air--hiding inside today in the ac today even though my yard needs to be mowed and I love being outside. Lots of OTC pain meds and some alcohol helping the pain. I have fixed up 2 of my vintage sewing machines, worked on a 3rd and having some confusing issues on that one. I have 5 now working so thrilled. The others yet a challenge.

Wholefoodnut-Colloidal Silver is a naturopathic liquid antiseptic. It kills staph germs including MRSA. You can find it in any health food store and some pharmacies.

@Wholefoodnut - yeah, what Shiny50 said. The great thing about colloidal silver is that it heals things from the inside out. I have even treated puncture wounds with it before (on me and one of the stray cats that hang around my house!).

Thanks I will have to look for that. I need to heal this one from the inside as I think it's pretty deep--was bleeding too much so couldn't see well. I used just tea tree oil the last time I gouged my self with something. I've been dropping it on the bandage hoping that it will sink through. It's not as sore this am but won't unwrap it until at least tomorrow.
