wholefoodnut's Journal, 24 May 2019

A good start to the day. Have been to the social security office and set up benefits (turning 70 in July), to the eye docs to have them put my good reading glasses back together and stuck a few herb plants in the mud. It's light rain and storms later today will try to stick the tomatoes in the mud. Stopped for a few: waiting for OTC pain meds to keep in the impending storms are playing games with the air pressure again. Watching the noon weather.

Have decided to keep a "DONE" list instead of a to do list. More positive than the to do list that never gets all the way completed. Trying for some exercise today if my body co-operates. Time to get moving again. After yesterday I need to make today count.

Good positive motivation - making the done list. I like it!

Sweet Georgia, we do NOT want more rain. Am in Missouri with floods. We are slowly drowning in it. We have had 6 inches so far this week on top of saturated ground and they are saying 2-4 more. I have to wear mud boots to go in my back yard which is currently mostly a soupy swamp and I live on a hill. The rivers, lakes and creeks are swollen and the Missouri and Arkansas Rivers threatening massive flooding downstream. I'm lucky as my home is not in danger. Areas of the state are devastated from massive tornadoes Wed. night, one entire town no longer exists. Rain and storms GO AWAY.

I like that a lot. Done List. Never like to talk 'will do' myself. Like 'did' better. This means I cannot talk about before it's done.

Kenna, my thoughts every day. I actually parked last week on one of the streets hugely affected by the recent tornado. I feel blessed again tonight with severe storms blasting us. Rotating winds and rain and I am just fine--hit the basement briefly. HCB, mmm you can apply for social security 6 mos ahead. I didn't know you should get an appointment but I was set up anyway. Diddee, my todo list is always huge and I never get it done.

we decided to wait, instead of trying to stick tomatoes in a mud!!

So sorry for all the bad weather, floods and wildfires. Stay safe.

lydium, I gave up waiting as it simply keeps raining some beds are simply too soggy to do anything with. Another 3 inches last night and more forecast for later today. I need to finish my done list from yesterday.

Yes, he already has a plan to start collecting his SS even while still working!

A few years back I had note pads made for my friends for Christmas. With three headings—- Needs to be done——Done——and Ain’t Happening. Guess which was always the longest list.

Good job waiting until 70 to collect SSI!

Instead of just "In" and "Out" boxes on my desk, I used to have one marked "Scarlet" and one marked "Rhett."

A done list... hmmmm... but would I remember what I was supposed to do?

MMM 2 lists? It was like the weather is nice so I will do this. No pressure from myself to get through a list but I feel good today. No to do list. I did tackle weeding the front triangular garden and that is done!! sold my jeep and it is no longer sitting in my driveway, it took more of my time than I expected, but that's OK. Spent a little time talking to neighbors-- I have a mostly amazing neighborhood.

HCB, if he turns 70 he might as well collect it is not going to increase except according to his annual income. They also told me to sign up for Medicare A even though I have health insurance through my employer as it doesn't cost anything.

Shirfleur, too funny. Maybe I will re-eval my desk @ work.

Wholefoodnut, on the rate occasions when I would sift through those last two boxes, I often found that the issue had resolved itself or was no longer relevant. LOL!

Shirfleur, that happens. Work I have to have a list to follow through on as we have to get back to people as promised. The extra things I work on are going to go in a done notebook--a side benefit is a record when it comes time to do our self-evals for our annual reviews. Home to dos are often overwhelming.
