This week has been soooo hectic, work was in crisis mode all week, all the laboratory inspections my department did were last minute, like have to do them yesterday and then some of them had such serious issues, the reports will have to go to the Federal level for enforcement procedures and possible closure, and I still have to write the reports, the hardest part. UGH!!

Despite all the "fires" this week with work, I managed to lose 1 lb! Yeah! I stuck to the correct foods and exercised at the pool 4 days this week, the pool time felt so good after work, I am amazed how mentally relaxing I find my workouts, thank goodness, cause I sure need it this week!

The coming week doesn't promise to be any better: writing the inspection reports, communications with the Feds, plus an overnight out of town trip for an all state staff meeting.......

Well today my Dad and I are going to the Farmers Market, downtown Dallas, and get the stuff to make fresh salsa. When I make salsa I always end up with about a gallon that has to be eaten within about a week---it usually gets all eaten because as soon as my sister, brother-in-law(s), 2-3 cousins... all find out I have made salsa, everyone shows up begging for some to take home. My way of keeping up with everyone, I also manage to work out some trades for the salsa: produce from their gardens, getting my car washed, free dog sitting when we out of town.....

I also managed to try a new craft project: decorating flip flops. I crocheted Eyelash yarn around the straps so now they are Fuzzy flip flops. They turned out pretty good, I am going to wear mine with jeans, I am going to be so "hip" for an old lady!

The comments about being "the old lady at the pool" are sometimes funny but other times I find them very annoying---I am 'only' 51, have never particular looked my age, but they sure make me aware that some people think anyone over 22 is old. Some days I am not comfortable with the idea that other people think I am too old, and too old for what? Is this what is call a mid-life crisis??

Got to go, the tomatoes, peppers, cilantro and onions are calling me..

later:
Dad and I shopped the whole Farmers Market and then made salsa together, we had fun and the salsa turned out wonderful. Then my DH brought over pork chops to Dad's and grilled them on the George Forman, added a little cooked fresh zucchini and salsa, Dad and I stayed on our diets with ease :)
