Today is Mike's Birthday, I have spent two months making sure its a blast!!! The only thing I forgot about what the food. I did sneak in triscuits (RF) and club crackers that are also RF but everything else down to the hamburger meat is full fat. I have willpower, there is also going to be drinking and I have done SO GREAT this week, I even cheated and peeked at the scale and I am not so far from Onederland, I can't screw up now, HELP!! Give me some ideas on how to resist the foods and drink at this party. Should I just drink water??? If I could fill up on water I wouldn't be able to touch food, its really not the food as much as the beer, I don't drink a lot but I could easily have 6-8 coors light...I don't want to regret this party tomorrow.....

Happy Birthday to your hubby! Here's what I did for my husband's birthday because I wanted to be good as well, but not torture everyone else with having to stick to "my" diet. If you already have your menu planned out, how about picking yourself up something to grill….like a chicken breast or having a turkey burger. Make sure you have a veggie platter (carrots seem to be my thing that works well)…even shrimp cocktail is low in points. I also picked up some regular chips, but also included the baked lay tortilla chips and salsa. As for drinks, I know he'd want to drink (and seeing how he's point conscious too), I picked up some vodka, and diet tonic water…so he'd have a vodka tonic with lime (only 2 points per glass). As for dessert…not sure if you did a cake or not…but my mother-in-law made cupcakes…so that way I could partake with everyone else, but didn't feel guilty about it because the portion was already made for me. :) hope that helps…and good luck with the party, sounds like you are already thinking about it, so I'm sure you will be successful in not over doing it!

correction....with the diet tonic water...apparently its only 1 point per glass (just "consulted" my husband! hahaha), because typically the drink would have 1 ounce.

thanks so much!!! I am snacking on crackers......and I am vowing to stay FAR away from the cake, cookies and brownies, I had a bite size piece of brownie but that all!!!

Why don't you make up your own plate of low calorie foods... perhaps a nice big salad with something like grilled chicken... certainly something that gives you loads to pick at. Just keep those carbs lighter for your food, then you can have a few drinks and still stay on track. Happy birthday to your hubby and hope you have a great party! :o)
