DAY 346..DAY 12..ITS FRIDAY AGAIN!!! WHERE DO THE WEEKS GO..the weeks just fly by anymore..wakin up to 50 outside this morning and according to the weather man right now, no more rain for 5 days..and really nice weather..hope hes right!!..gettin ready to drink protein shake for breakfast and eat a couple of sausage pattys, then headed out for my walk, and to the gym for another workout, then have several errands to get done this morning..not sure what im gonna find to do later, besides an afternoon walk..i want to keep adding more steps on..saturdays and sundays is usually my less step days, gotta give my feet, legs time to get some rest..to bad the calories i eat those days, dont take a rest to so i dont have to work em off..i have noticed my cravings are long gone..i might pick up something im not suppose to eat, and i might actually stick it in my mouth, but its in the portion that i should of been eating all along..its not like i sit ther and keep eating past that portion..which is great..today is weigh in day, but might put that off until tomow, get one extra workout in before weigh in day...well need to get moving..so i can be out the door at 530am...and layin more shoe leather on the pavement..i want to wish everyone a great day today..and keep that body movin as much as you can..burn them calories off...was looking at my pedometers history for the week...

addon: just got home from walk/gym workout..i guess doing that 20,000 steps yesterday was pushing myslf more then usual..today i wasnt in the mood to walk, or go to the gym..but i kno i have to get a workout in anyways..or quit eating the days i dont workout..and as of yet i havnt been able to do that..so the days i dont workout, have to be really low carb/low calorie days..so i dont have so much to work off the days i do get bck into my routine..gettin ready to enjoy the rest of the day..catch you all later...have a great day!!!

Way to go on all that steppin! Ya-hoo my friend!! You're doing great. I need to start steppin more again... I've been in an exercise rut lately. 30 minutes is about my max.... that's so out of character for me!!

i to have days when i just dont even want to go to workout, but i still go cause i kno i have to burn off any and all calories i can..even if i get a 20 min workout in, its better then none..sometimes you just have to push the workouts to get thru them..

I am a little confused. how do pedometers actually work? How do they know when you have taken a step?

Josh, pedometers have built in mechanisms that detect movement. The really cheap ones just have a rough idea of the distance a person takes per step and may not be accurate (I dont know if they exist any more but 'back in my days' thats what was around). The common ones have a motion sensitive spring mechanism that moves whenever a person moves and that is counted. The really cool (but expensive) ones actually measure when your foot hits a ground. So basically its like a motion detector that triggers a counter every time it detects a movement, thereby counting your steps.
