MissLissa's Journal, 05 May 2008

I would say I'd followed 100%, except that I had been drinking Diet Coke, instead of Diet Coke with Splenda. (Therefore, I had some Aspartame in my diet).

So really, going up is just plain not fair. Especially after the stupid bbq picnic yesterday, where ALL BUT ONE FRIEND FLAKED! Can you believe that? It's a beautiful warm sunny day, Golden Gate Park, my husband and I rented an entire section for our picnic, set up badmitton... and then the phone calls started coming in that there were changes in plans. So there were just three of us... and a TON of food.

We'd even brought chips and cookies for our non-dieting friends, all gone to waste. I admit it, I was so mad I broke and ate a sandwich w/ bread, and had a few cookies. But I'd weighed myself yesterday and was the same, so unfortunately I can't blame this gain just on the bread yesterday!

Okay, so the cookies and chips didn't go to waste, the homeless we gave them to seemed quite grateful.

That's terrible, sorry to hear that. Just get back on track and next time you get upset try not to let your emotions get the best of you.

I'm sorry girl. It was a beautiful day here in Oregon too. We also had a BBQ but kept it small and at home. I used to live about 60 miles from SF, so I know how beautiful of a day it must have been in Golden Gate Park. My suggestion would be to make it a pot luck next time, that way you only end up with as much food as people bring. That is what we always do. The one that organizes brings the main dish and other people bring the sides, that way nobody is out a whole lot of money and if someone can't make it at the last minute there is no harm done. Hang in there, just get back on the plan, give it some time. Try eliminating the aspartame. That should help. Also, keeping a food journal helps. It doesn't have to be on here, but keep record of your carbs. Good luck!
