Argh!!!! struggling again with junk food/chocolate. Haven't really lost anything the entire month of March ! Maybe a plateau or it's the exercise I'm doing, maybe just losing inches?? Clothes fitting better. Still need to lose 11 lbs for knee surgery!! My friends want me to go socialize with them and do things with them !!! I can't socialize and go out and diet too!! It just doesn't work for me !!! Very frustrating time for me. I have to stay on track cause once I get the surgery I will be free to do more physically and go to lots more places to enjoy my life !!!
231.0 lb Lost so far: 25.0 lb.    Still to go: 31.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 0.5 lb a week

I see many similarities in our backgrounds except I got rid of the unsupportive spouse about 4 years ago lol. I am also 100 pounds overweight, in my fifties, don't have many friends and am borderline diabetic. And, oddly enough, I am recovering from knee surgery. I too, have lost weight rapidly in the past using methods like Atkins. I think that losing it slowly like I am now, is the best approach to keeping it off long-term. Hang in there. I know your weight loss has slowed, but you do show a steady downward trend. Look to your FS friends when you need support!

You can go out and socialize. Only you can control what you consume. Make good choices and enjoy your friends. 🤗

i can relate to feeling like you can't go out and socialize with friends while on a diet because i used to think that same way too! it used to be super hard for me to do that but what i have started doing is letting my friends know that i'm on a diet and i'm more than happy to hang out with them as long as it does not involve going out to eat. and even if you do go out to eat, choose healthier options! (i know its difficult when pizza is on the menu, but it's all about self control). true friends will encourage you and will not put you in the path of temptation, is what i always say! you got this, stay motivated and you will meet your goals!

I'm guessing you've told your friends this. Have you tried to come up with things your all interested in without food or drinking being involved? Not sure off hand what that would be because I don't know what you like. I have a girl friend that has to eat if there's even a crumb around. To keep her away from over eating we jump, ok not really jump on our bikes and take a ride. We've also been known to leash the dogs and walk all over town. For this town it takes about an hour, unless you go up and down every street. We tried that once. We ended up calling her husband to pick us up. We were so tired. Good luck my FS friend.

I'll come. Six months ago I was sure I could never go to the movies without my partner(popcorn), but now it's not that be a deal. You'll get there🙋

Social eating is my biggest vice. Especially when it's impromptu. If you go out to dinner, box half of your food. Check the menu and decide what you will eat beforehand. If you go to the movies, bring your own snacks (put them in a purse or backpack). Ask your friends to join in getting healthy...make it a competition! Potlucks - sample the food, only like 1-2 tablespoons of each thing. Friends are friends for a reason. Ask them to help you be accountable...if they have a hard time understanding, help educate them on healthy eating. Perhaps you can inspire them as well.

You could also offer to host an event to give you more control over the food offered.
