Woke up this morning, hoping to see a loss, but fearing it might be a temporary gain--so was relieved to see a 4 pound loss from last week, however, this isn't the lowest number I've seen this week--as earlier on Tuesday or so, I was down to 164.8, so I was really hoping to go down to 164 or even 163 (thus crossing over from the obese to the ow category!!)..Didn't happen, but I'll try to not that get in the way of feeling good that SOME loss is happening...However, in my usual analytic style, I have to wonder, though, that why isn't there a bigger loss? I did workout EVERYDAY this week--and have added to over 10 hours of workout-time this week! This is better than ever before, so I was indeed hoping to see the results on the scale, but ah well!
So, on the update-front, last night we ended up going to an Improv. show--which was hilarious! I had attempted to fortify myself from home (however, sans french-women style en cas string cheese which I forgot to grab after all! and had to leave my lentil soup un-drunk as my friend had already arrived to pick me up and we were getting late!). So, at the Improv, I by-passed alcohol and asked the bartender, very hesitantly, for something non-alcoholic. He didn't miss a beat or seem nonplussed, and offered, very non-judgmentally, the choices of soda or juices. So I opted for a diet pepsi, and was happy to discover it is not such a big deal to not drink a "real" drink!
After improv, we decided to go to my favorite wine-bar (and hoped to meet some interesting men there!). This wine bar has an amazing collection, and the wait-staff really know their stuff! People around you are drinking all kinds of exotic wines and beers, and I, once again, settled for a diet pepsi--and tried not to feel sorry for myself. I did, for a second, wonder, how bad would it be to order just ONE glass of wine? But then I remembered, the next day's weigh-in, and how dramatically wine would cause the scales to act "up"! So, instead of the wine, I decided to still get a small cheese plate (as by this time, I was getting peckish having had to skip my hearty dinner soup). So, this cheese plate came with two wedges of cheeses (delicious!), and 5-6 water crackers, couple of small crackers, and 3-4 rice crackers--very interesting looking, paper-thin, with rosemary...also included were dried cranberries, raisins, and couple pieces of dried plums (I skipped the cranberries and had the rest). After eating, and having enjoyed it, I did wonder if that cheese was "too fattening" (duh!) and if it would cause weight to go up overnight!? But I also hoped that the extra working out had gained me allowable calories to splurge a little?
Came home at 2.30 am, but was so sleepy from 1.30 onwards(that is so not like me! I was even falling asleep in the car on the way home--thank god I wasn't driving!). So went to bed soon after, and woke up today around noon!!
Obviously, missed my morning workout now, but am hoping to get some grocery-shopping, a little bit of clothes' shopping, and a hair cut and pedicure done today...Even if I'm not exactly at the size I was hoping to be at by this week, I think it's about time I treated myself to some nice, new clothes to celebrate my current size!!
So, off to get all those things done now..hoping for a productive day ahead (will workout in the evening, now).
