My younger daughter and I have set a date to visit my older daughter who is living with her grandma at the beach - Martha's Vineyard off Massachusetts to those nosy couple of buddies who wanted to know!
We will go on a Sunday and then come home on Tuesday - not the 4th of July though! The traffic that weekend will be brutal I am sure!
Two days isn't a long time, but then I'll have a night at home. We're just relaxing these days, slowly getting all her ducks in a row for college in the fall! We will go to Target for some bedding, maybe get her a little fridge, maybe a microwave. Depends on what her roomie will have too - my older one's roommate had a TV! Not that they need one, what with the Internet access these days.
I think I am doing ok with eating, just doing really badly with journaling! My friend says we'll go to Weight Watchers, but then I have been stalling to actually agree on a date! I think I need more sleep - or less sleep - or an air conditioner. Weather this week has been in the 90's during the day! 80's at night and about 78 percent humidity - talk about sticky! I AM glad I am not working days - oh, that would be so much worse!
This week I heard about two other people who are getting divorced. It must be in the water! Well, we are all of a certain age, I guess, and living the same kind of life, with kids - one was the wife said "the end!" and the other the husband left. Neither way is great, let me tell you!
Last weekend I had a conversation with my ex and it was pleasant. We are trying to be friendly, neighborly, but not too intimate - it's weird. Like we had amnesia but we were told we knew each other. I find it hard to let go of the part of me that wants to know his opinion of what I am doing or what I am planning. Later he sent me an email about Father's day messages from our daughters - they are very cute, my girls, and they do love their dad.
