CarisaLee's Journal, 11 March 2019

Just getting started today. I am desperate to lose weight. I am at my all-time high for weight and my all-time low for moving. I have been severely depressed for months and am just now starting to see the light again. I don’t really know how this app works, but I would love some support. Mostly from people that are looking to lose 100+ pounds, such as myself, but really from anybody. I have all the tools-I have spent hundreds of hours researching diet, health and exercise, so that is not my problem. My problem is that I am always giving up on myself and quitting! I know I can do this-I just figure that it doesn’t hurt to take advantage of all the tools I can utilize :)

Diet Calendar Entry for 11 March 2019:

You came to the right place! I have exactly 200 to lose! I started a new lifestyle in January and I am confident I will be able to see it through. I have already reduced the amount of insulin I am taking to 1/4 of what it was before. I have only lost 10 lbs, but my body feels different and after 2 months with only a 10 lb loss, I am still encouraged! Ask for help when you need it and you will get it!

Hi, and welcome to the community!!! Logging what you eat daily (no matter how bad it might be) is crucial. It will help you to skip snacking and make better decisions overall. Drink plenty of water. That will help not only flash out the toxins but also suppress your appetite. When I don’t feel like having a glass of regular water I swap it with hot water with a slice of lemon. Don’t try to take all at once from your diet. Think of it as long term solution and make adjustments weekly. For instance... stop drinking soda this week, fried food next week, bread the week after that end so on. That would be my suggestion. And last but not least. Look for accountability body. It could be your friend, your personal trainer or even someone in this community. Accountability body is someone that you will share your logs with and who will support you along the way. There is a company that has accountability bodies on call if you can afford pay service but if you can not then try to find one within your friends or in here. Wishing you all the best. Good luck and we’re here for you If you need us 💛

I’m glad to welcome you, even though I’m new, too. Just yesterday. My therapist told me the best motivation is valuing yourself and seeing losing weight as self-care. It’s hard to value yourself I find. But it’s where I, personally, have to start. Of course, like you said, we all know what to do, it’s the reason! Mine is mostly health so that’s a big motivator. I hope you can put your heart and soul into this. So far the app seems easy to use. Good luck!

Hey there. I’ve had the app for a few years but I only use it to track my weight. 100 pounds is doable. I’ve been trying to lose weight since 2014 but I took it seriously January 2018 and as of yesterday I am officially down 90 pounds! I did not exercise at all! I changed my way of thinking about food and I started eating tons of vegetables the first year. I lost 30 pounds in 2018. Jan 2019 most of my cravings were gone and I switched to hot tea without sugar in opposed to my beloved Dublin with extra cream and sugar. 60 pounds since January and I haven’t moved off of my couch! Maybe not the most healthy way but I did it and I made lifestyle changes over the long haul. You can do it!

I have used this web site since 2013. It got me to goal twice. I just now got back to goal after gaining 15 lbs over the holidays. I came back because I don't want my weight to get clear out of control. You get lots of support and ideas here.

One day at a time! Just make a plan and try to stay to it!! Drink a lot of water!! Eat to live, don't live to eat!! Remember, you are not in this alone :)

Small healthy changes and small goals add up faster than you know. If I'd set out to lose 134 lbs. or to eat the way I eat now, I would have given up before I even started. Start by making just one healthy change first. Make it an easy one that you know won't be a struggle and don't worry about the hard ones until later. Keep the ultimate goal in mind, but break it down into smaller steps. You'll have to lose 5 lbs before you reach 100 anyway so make that 5 lbs your current goal and celebrate the win when you get there. Set yourself up for success and you WILL succeed.

You guys are amazing!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! Why had I never heard about this app before??!! This is exactly what I need to stay on track. I am excited for this journey and to share it with all of you. I can’t wait to see your progress as well! The thing I am most excited about is just being healthy and feeling good about myself knowing I accomplished something pretty terrific :) Thanks again and I hope you all have a wonderful day. It’s going to be above freezing here today, so I think I am going to take my dog for a walk shortly 😉

Welcome to our little group! I think a lot of us have been in the same boat, where we lose some weight then give up. I'm determined not to let that happen this time.

I am in the same boat - I have been on this site and then off. I logged in today to get restarted and see my last login was 364 days ago. Hmm. I am doing a cross between Whole 30, Keto and Paleo and am going to see if that works or if I have to commit to one. Good luck!
