2nd attempt. Last one ended in my journal. Lol. Been hiding in background since January 10th following posts and ideas for meals Started with HFLC but mentally had hard time adding enough fats. No health issues- no meds nor issues with b/p Not a sweet eater - don’t miss rice bread or potatoes. Definitely pasta even though eat low carb pasta Turned to counting calories but appear to be failing with that. Log all foods. Confused Help

I wish you good luck. Don't go too low on calories you metablism will adjust to it. Try to find a reasonable amount to eat. what is your RDI?

As far as i can tell, your journal is posted to the community. I'm in the same boat. Tried LCHF and can't get carbs low enough. Gotta learn to treat fruit as candy. I think I too really messed up by eating too few calories. Now in an attempt to balance I'm going to add protein powder to other things i eat, not just the shakes.

liv001. Thank you for your reply. Question: read if you eat too much protein it turns to fat. For an educated person how I’ve managed to make a diet soooo complex. It’s not like I’ve never been on a diet before. Probably my haviest was 170. Done weight watchers successfully and just plain calorie counting. Decided I wanted to try keto since my son was so successful but a lot more active being a police officer and going to gym daily. Have a gym membership also but due to weather (hate the cold ) Bottom line any please don’t hesitate to comment

liv001. Last night after reading a post from cab1006 I went back to old RDI readings all over the place / nothing that I could make sense of Look at meals people have posted. If ate that much afraid I’d fail as well as people posting good weight loss. All in all have become frustrated/disappointed in myself Veggies and fruit high in carbs / too much protein turns to fat. Only thing I can come up with is suture my mouth closed Need to find my happy place to succeed but as now feel lost in the woods Thanks for your input into my crisis mode

You have to do what is right for you and for your body. It is not good to compare to what people post. Who knows if they eat what is on their pictures. There is just a food picture culture that has a life of its own. You have to focus on you. Food is good for you so build a diet around what you enjoy eating.

I think I read somewhere that excessive protein is hard on your kidneys? May have research that again. Anyway, everything in moderation is my mantra. 🙂

Rbbswitl. Thank you for your input. Remain confused- not your fault Read too much protein turns to fat. Through logging observated veggies & fruits high in carbs. - don’t like adding extra fats - Followed measuring all foods - log all foods - attempted to plan meals ahead of time - life long decide what I’m going to eat in am otherwise ends up in garbage Also example last nights dinner was changed 3 timer in attempt to not have too many carbs or protein. Mental case I know I’ve made this diet thing so complex but don’t lmow how to off this merry go round

I just have food. I focus on carbs since that is the diet I am on. But if you rather focus on amounts of foods that works fine as well. Just find out how much you should be eating and then go from there. It does not matter that much how much of it is protein and hot much is carb etc. If you eat under your limit you willl lose weight

Your history shows an 18 pound drop since January 10th. That is fantastic. Whatever you're doing seems to be working pretty well.
