I had a rather dramatic day today. We had a bad electrical storm today and lightning struck right outside our bedroom window and hit our air conditioning unit as well as a tree that was smouldering outside our window all day according to the fire department this evening. Our air conditioning is still out and it is about 81 degrees in our apt. so I don't know how I will ever manage to sleep in the heat. But fortunately the modem the lightning fried was replaced free by our cable company and we bought a new router so our Internet is now OK and our TV got back to normal after acting weird for a few minutes so we didn't have to buy a new TV. I went to a concert to listen to Charlie Daniel's band. It was great. And the long fireworks show was awesome with smiley faces and hearts and tons and tons of fireworks. Except for getting crushed by the huge crowd (50,000) and the traffic it was a great night. We are lucky the lightning didn't actually hit us in the apt. It was just a few feet away from where I was sleeping at the time. And we are lucky there wasn't a fire. And we're lucky to have a new modem and an OK TV and a new router. My daughter thought today was a terrible day but I think it was a lucky day except for the hot bedroom tonight to sleep in. Tomorrow I finally get to go to church with my husband and I am really looking forward to it. I mad a long list of affirmations and we read them aloud to day. We are going to do that every day from now on and do our visualizations. And tomorrow I am going to make sure I do my prayer, Bible study, rosary and meditation. I am looking forward to a productive and fun day tomorrow. Hope everyone has a delightful and prosperous Father's Day!

Andrea, that is sooo scary. Had a similar situation once and never wantto go through that again, let me tell ya. Hope you were able to get some rest, without the airco. Glad that you are going to church today and with the hubby at that!! How wonderful! Hope that your hubby has a great Father's Day amd that you enjoy it together with your daughter.

Hi Andrea, as scary as that was, I think you're right in recognizing just how lucky you really were in this. I mean, a few feet from where you were sleeping?? And the tree didn't fall on the building, either. And your things were okay...sounds like all worked out well. Frightening, to be sure, but the outcome could have been so much worse. So glad you're all okay. The concert sounds like it was fun, even with the huge crowd. I didn't understand when you said that tomorrow you finally get to go to church with your husband. I guess it's part of the history I've missed. I hope services were great today and that you enjoy the day. Hope you slept well. When we first moved to AZ, our a/c went out within days of the move. It was early August and the downstairs got to 100 degrees. We didn't bother going upstairs. It was miserable!
