So I think it's unfair that we ourselves can't see what other people see when they look at us. I know that at this point I really can't rely on the scale at all. That it may be awhile before that number goes down so in 10 days I hope that tape measure gives me some good news. A friend of mine stopped by today & I haven't seen her in a few weeks, maybe a month & the first thing she said to me is "Wow, look at you!" (She doesn't know I've been working out or anything) It was weird & nice at the same time b/c I certainly can't see any difference & everytime I put on clothes I'm never happy w/ what I see, I just have to live w/ it. As long as the inches keep shrinking & my clothes start fitting me the way they did when I bought them, then the scale can say a ton for all I care, lol :p

Ok the "OMG, YAY!" factor has worn off from the jogging thing. Am I happy I can do it? Hell yes! Do I like doing it? Hells no! Lol. Today I did a combined 40 mins of jogging. Since Sun, it's gotten HARDER each time. But I haven't given up. Still going at it, no matter how much it hurts. (Do they make tight enough workout wear so that it doesn't feel like your fat is attempting to rip itself off of you??) The WAY brightside of it, amazingly my bad knee hasn't been a problem. I can feel it a bit while I'm working out, but not afterward so thus far I'm still kickin'! :d

lol I know exactly what you mean about the fat feeling like its ripping off of you...ugh makes me feel so gross and want to quit. You're doing really good, the longer you do it, the easier it will get. It's just another reaction your muscles are experiencing to having yet another purpose to work for you.

Lol, seriously. Yeah, I don't feel as sore as I think I should, but I won't complain about that ; p Just gotta keep moving! I'll be stoked if I can do my 2-5 sets back to back tomorrow, but that may be pushing it a bit much. Might just try that next week = )

LOL, I second the feeling of the fat jiggle during the jog. :) My brother's a football player and has just a little jiggle and he wears Under Armour. He swears by it...reduces the jiggle. :) I'm so proud of you and your jogging! So awesome. :)

Haha, maybe I should start wearing under armour when I work out. The worst part for me though is the bouncing of the breasts... OUCH! I have to wear a regular bra under my sports bra just to be comfortable, haha.

P.S. Shay, you are my hero. I can dance like it's nobody's business for an hour straight but jogging... ten minutes straight and I'm done for. :(

Thnx guys, I'm pretty proud of myself as well. I need some Under Armour for my BUTT!! The very small saddle bags I've acquired over the last 2 years hurt some but mostly it's just the top of my butt. It'd be nice to do w/o that. Sasha- I've been wearing a regular bra under a sports bra since I was 12! I was a size C in 6th grade & after that first day of PE & I wore only a sports bra & said eff that, I'm wearing both. Never looked back. To those of us who have larger chests, I cannot comprehend how someone would even think to wear ONLY a sports bra. I'd be in the hospital if I tried that, lol. Oh & I wish I was jogging for 10 mins straight but I'm not. I do intervals, kinda like HIIT. 4 mins jogging, 2 mins walking x 5 sets. It's still pretty damn heinous!

Hey way to go!! I'm still trying to get the energy to do my 3 miles today, but remember that it all started with the Couch to 5K program :) If i can do it, then anyone can :) I just hope that my belly starts cooperating with me sometime soon... I blame my husband LOL!

Hahaha, I love it! Since I've started wearing two bras I have never looked back. I would also be in the hospital. Your intervals sound doable and I hear that HIT like workouts are the best for fat-blasting. Do you jog outdoors or on a treadmill?

I use my sister's treadmill. I have a hard time controling my speed & stride since I'm not use to running, so when I've tried doing it at the park, I end up having a near asthma attack after about a min of jogging. And w/ the treadmill I like that I can see how much time I have left.

You are awsome Shay :] I got one of those moments yesterday too! When I opened the door to get in my friends car she said "your legs look smaller" it caught me off gaurd too. All I could do was cheese and say thanks lol like you said, I wish we could see what everyone else does, but there will be that moment when we do, and its going to be awsome! lol :] As for the jiggling fat trying to rip off (LMAO) I was actually buying my first a pair of SPANX and from lane bryant and I was asking all about them becasue I've never bought them before and the girl said that she LOVEs them, she owned 3 of them, one for everyday, one for going out, and one for her work outs, she said it helps keep everything in place and makes it way more comfortable, and I can imagin its true. If you havent worn them before they are AWSOME! I love to wear them when we go out dancing :] Hope that helps girl, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!! **HUUUGS** <3 Shae

Congrats! I wish I could just jog like nothing. My knees always hurt and I can literally hear them creaking or popping half the time, not to mention I get hot and out of breath pretty easily. I used to have asthma as a kid, but I think I have a mild form of it again! I think I'll look into the HIIT thing though, I might be able to tolerate a few minutes at a time. How many times a week do you work out like that? I know the feeling about not seeing the same thing as other people. I hardly ever believe anyone when they say I look thinner though, especially since most of the time I know I wasn't, so it was impossible! I also especially hate it when you think you're looking better than you really are. Those damn mirrors easily skew things sometimes. Either that, or maybe my Mom is just overly critical about how I look all the time lol. It sucks. I can't wait till the only thing she can say about how I look is that I HAVE lost weight and that I DO look good in that dress/outfit etc!

Shae - Lol, I'm glad over the past 5 yrs I've prefected my "cheese" & "Aww, thnx" comment when someone compliments me on my appearance. I spent far too many years being invisible &/or taunted that when it first started happening, I had NO idea how to handle it other than to decimate the compliment into the ground. When I started realizing how that was making others feel, I began to learn to accept it. I haven't tried SPANX. I've always eyed them suspiciously while at Lane Bryant or Torrid. If I ever get a job, I think I might try them out. Ahijar - So far I've only been doing this since Mon & the 2 sets/day since Tues. What I'm aiming for is being able to to 2 sets (total 1hr 3mins) in the morning & another in the evening. Tonight was going to be the first night of that, but nephew had a bit of a melt down during shopping so my sis wanted to get him to bed early. I have a bad knee from a ballroom dance incident 7 yrs ago. It sounds like it's grinding when I bend & it can get pretty bad. High impact USUALLY greatly affects my knee. I think maybe it hasn't been b/c I was also doing alot of walking before I started doing this, as well as biking. Perhaps my knee was conditioned enough to do this. I'd say give it a try, but if your knee flare's up, just stick w/ walking for a few weeks then bump it up from there. Just don't give up! And yes, mirrors are heinous, but what goes on in our minds is far more detrimental than any mirror. And let me tell you, the worst is when you're gaining weight & people honest to goodness think you've lost weight. That has been my problem over the last 3 years. That by far is the worst! For those who can't run or jog really far, I'd highly suggest doing this. It really gets your heartrate up there & you can TOTALLY feel it in your lower body!! I can also feel it in my biceps b/c I do "running" hands in front of my chest while I jog & I have alot of excess skin from a previous big weight-loss so that's an added bonuse = )
