I've been to the gym twice this week and the delicious feeling of sore muscles is so welcome! But, after dinner and shower and bed last night, all I wanted was Wendy's, or some other fast food....or anything else covered in fat and cheese. So, I'm approaching this day mindful that I need to stay on track and hoping that the homemade pasta and meatballs my dad is making for my niece's birthday tomorrow night with satiate my cravings...and my mom's carrot cake too 😊
In the past, I've always adhered to a zero compromise diet with an almost religious fervor. But now, it's all about eating healthy, whole foods 90% of the time and knowing that the other 10% is just life. There will always be special occasions or times when 100% adherence isn't possible. But, the farther I travel on this journey, I predict that the unhealthy, processed food is going to become increasingly undesirable. When I do "stray," I want it to be for things like homemade pasta and meatballs. Being Italian, food is a celebration and I don't want to lose that in my quest for weight loss.
