amanda123's Journal, 10 June 2010

I just realized something - I'm stressed out and my first reaction is not to stuff my face! Whoo! Hoo! So I made a 77.5 on my Ch 3 economics exam. This supply and demand stuff seems like it should be common sence but some of it isn't - at least for me anyways. Anyways - I ate during lunch and studied really hard and was going to re-take the quiz. At 12:23 I log on and go to take it and the time to re-take expired at 12:00. My biology quizes expire at 11:55pm so I assumed the economics would be the same. I guess I have to keep that 77 now. :( I still have a 91 average but this stuff is getting harder and harder. I printed off all of my quizes but it won't show me what I answered so I am re-answering the quizes to use as my study guide tonight. I wish I knew if I was answering them correctly. At least I'm not trying to "feed" the stress away.

See? That tells you that you are a changed woman! Great job on avoiding the stress eating. But dont let one quiz get you down. Just study the best you can and ace that test. I know you have it in you.

I am going to study so hard tonight that hopefully that quiz won't hurt me in the long run. It is nice to have an A but as fast paced as this is I will be happy to pass. I know I am losing today. Can you ever just "feel" it? I guess because it is coming off so fast. Sometimes I will feel like I am a little drained and each step is hard work - those are the days when I step on the scale to find a pound or more gone..... or maybe I just need vitamins LOL! I am expecting a good weigh in tomorrow. It is when I am in moderate to heavy ketosis that I feel this way.

Well best of luck with your weigh in tomorrow. And don't forget to get your studying in tonight! I have class (blah). I really do prefer distance learning classes where you don't have to sit in on. I'd much rather be home studying and doing work than sitting in these lectures. But she's a great instructor so I wont complain.

Thanks Keli, so you are going for Project Management. Do you already work in Public Service and this will help you advance? I work in accounting but I am just the accounting assistant. We moved to SE OK where the job market is tough and the pay is lower than where I was from - Dallas. I have taken about a 40% pay cut in this position. I was laid off when the economy slowed down. I am so thankful to have this position even though it is only temporary. I am going to school to advance my skills and open up more opportunities. My previous position I was the HR assistant and I really enjoyed it. I would like to go for HR but again - in such a small area not alot of opportunities. We do have a few large companies w/in a 60 mile radius - Campbell Soup plant, Kimberly Clark plant, Sara Lee plant, and of course where I work - Stinky Paper plant LOL!

Stinky paper plant? Really? Too funny. Yes, I am a civilian working for the Dept of Defense on an Air Force Base. I have a permanent job but it will be a very slow if at all progression without the degree and I have goals to go high. As far as the economy goes, the jobs that are out there worth anything require degrees. If it's between someone with and someone without the degrees speak much more than the experience - hands down every time!

Yes Stinky Paper Plant - we make cardboard pretty much and it smells like rotten beans or worse at times out here. Your purse and your car take up the smell. I must be getting used to it because I notice it less and less. I know degree's really help you out but with my last position my experience in Commercial Real Estate is what helped me. I was making more money than one of the accountants who had a Masters degree. He was just starting out however and I'm sure after a few years he would have surpassed me. I know having a degree would help tremendously. Living in a small town everyone tells me medical is the best field to go into but it's just not me. I don't think I would enjoy that line of work. I still have some time to think about it. It sounds like you have a really great job Keli!

Perhaps it's better that my workplace smells like rotten beans instead of the Sara Lee plant where I would have to smell bread baking all day LOL!

Amanda, I grew up in near the dairy's in Southern California. Depending on the weather you could smell the cows and/or the skunks. Never thought I'd miss it but I do.

I could not work for that place either. It would be a health hazzard.

Amanda you are doing awesome! School can be soo stressful, but the fact that you chose not to use food for comfort, shows how far you've truly come. Great job!
