i can't decide whether i want to relax and vegetate today or start a whole house cleanse. we have so much stuff, i mean sooo much!!! both of our mothers love to buy us stuff that we don't want and have no place for. it's the thought that counts, but we have now accumulated the equivalent of a 10 family yard sale in our house! we have lots of spare bedrooms so they get used as donation depots. i'll give you an example of the kinds of things we get. a bag of baby clothes......we have no children, nor are we planning on having children anytime soon, if ever (those were donated immediately!). large childrens toys (which i then handed over to friends w/ the appropriately aged child/children). lots of nick knacks, books, clothing that doesn't fit, furnishings, gag gifts, the list goes on and on. i get that the kids stuff from them is a hint but they have grandkids from our siblings we just happen to be the last hold outs! my mom in particular is the sneakiest clutter donater. i made a rule that i don't need any more things to add to my home and if i do it'd because i already have a place for it, so if you want to buy me stuff save it for my birthday or xmas. well she just calls now to see if i'm home and then comes and gives it to my husband! or he will stop by to help her w/ something and she will just throw things in the backseat then ask a week later why they are still there? cause i have no more room in my house ma! so here i am w/ free time and an option between decluttering my house and relaxing. i have until sunday,i know what i need done so lounging in the sun in the backyard reading a good book sounds great. tomorrow i will reserve as day one of declutterification!

Sounds like you are in need of that yard sale. There is nothing more cleansing to the soul as there is cleansing the home. Declutter the home - declutter the spirit. But I am there with you, sunning with a good book sounds like a must! Enjoy the day.

Why don't you split it up? When I have a massive undertaking to do I blare my fave tunes, and say 1, 2, 3 GO!!!!!!.....and then I go go go (for like 3 hours) and then the next day see how much more I can get done in the same time...works well for us types that have a little competitiveness....might as well make a work out of it. I (In Feb) Moved in with my boyfriend, and we are still in the process of combining 2 households work of stuff... Good luck on you declutterfication!

I need to declutter. I need some time off so I can get it done. It seems lately I'm too busy or too tired to do it on the weekends. I have to make it a special project for August. Happy cleaning to you, you'll be so happy when your done!!
