Good workout - 500 calorie burn : ) Didn't do anything yesterday, so felt I needed a good workout, too. Did Cardio Max 1 & 2 and Level 3 of 30 Day Shred, and then a couple of random exercises to get the burn up to 500. Potentially great things coming up ahead. DH wants to take a good vacation and we're thinking of going to Italy for 10 or 12 days. He took me to Paris for 8 nights last year for my birthday - I really DO have the best husband ever. I made a comment the other day about being unhappy with a couple of body parts in spite of dieting and exercise and he said to have 'em fixed! I'm seriously thinking about it, just scared to make the appointment. Part of me is like, hell, I'm FIFTY. What do I expect?? The other part (bigger part) is like, yeah, I may be 50, but I don't feel more than 40 for sure, certainly not what I thought 50 was supposed to feel like. And I don't think I look like a fifty year old woman. And talk about incentive to keep something up....I just need to get the cahoonies to make the call...and follow through...But some of this stuff I've thought about for more years than I can remember. Exciting.
I'm missing one of my good buddies on here...where are you?? : )

Oh WOW! Your hubby needs to drop a word in my hubby's ear! Paris for your birthday? You are so lucky! And now Italy? Fantastic. Florence is one of my favourite cities (not as touristy as Venice or as frantic as Rome) and you've got to go to Pompeii (then I'll be REALLY jealous 'cause I haven't). ________________ You are brave to be thinking about getting parts fixed... it's obvious, after all the months of hard work, and your rigourous regime, that you're not just looking for a quick fix. I know what you mean about not feeling 50: these days very few of us look our age, as our parents did. Just being able to regularly colour our hair takes 10 years off, as does a good cut and flattering style. I also LOVE candle-light, and can recommend not upgrading your eyesight. My dad had been married to the same, gorgeous, unlined woman he married over 50 years ago... until he got his eyes fixed and didn't recognise the wrinkled crone he was living with (just kidding).

Hi Ruby, thanks for the tips on Italy. Yeah, my hubby's the best! I think I found the doc I want, but can't get in until July 16th for the consult. Then another 3 - 4 weeks for the procedure(s), then up to six weeks recovery time - all of that time with very little working out (yikes!). So, if all goes as planned, we'll probably have to put off Italy until next year. My husband has a small window of opportunity to get away in Sept. from his job and (with luck) I many be recovering. Brave? I don't know. Vain? Most definitely! Seems like a great reward for tons of hard work, too! Found it hard to eat much today, too. Wish that would last, but not much chance of that happening : )
