i was CRAVING ice cream last night really bad. i was channel surfing and there was a documentary on about ice cream and it's history and how it's the yummiest food ever...okay that last bit was all me. so i changed the channel but it was too late, the thought had taken a hold of my brain like a dog with a bone. so i decided to try and ignore it by reading this new book, called angry fat girls, and the strangest thing happened when i got to the second page, were i had left off. it was talking about over eating being an addiction and how some people lose weight and think they are cured only to slip up and start gaining it back. they say that you need to always remember that you will have cravings and want to emotionally eat. they suggest that you imagine your addiction as never leaving or taking a rest but instead it's doing push-ups waiting for the most opportune time to pounce! last night i was bored and didn't feel well and that stupid documentary was on, and then i read that and it really clicked! i did not have the craving anymore. so i'm going to try and imagine my cravings of comfort foods not as my friends that make me happy, but of that friend that was always trying to secretly bring me down. sorry ben and jerry's fish food...we can't be friends any more cause you are a baaad influence on my butt!
