Well look at the bright side, at least cheese has a little protein in it! :) You did better getting your protein up. Here's something to consider. They recommend the percentages of you RDI to be 50% carbs, 20% fat and 30% protein, or something close to that (I may not be exactly correct). But say your RDI is 1800 cal and 30% of that needs to be protein, that means 1800 x .30 = 540 cal from protein/ 4cal/gm = 135 gm of protein that needs to be consumed in a day's time. I rarely can get eat that much protein, but I usually shoot to get in at least 100 gm of protein every day and it really seems to help from feeling hungry.

I do the same as Amy- aim for 100 grams and usually fail, lol :) But I don't worry about keeping the fat % so low. As a vegetarian, some of the best protein sources are also high in fat- like cheese and nuts. I don't worry about that. I know I'm not getting much "bad fat" (saturated fat) or any trans fat. I just watch the portions because those items are so high cal. But yummy!!

Yeah I really don't stress over the fat either. I keep an eye on it, but I really only try to make sure I get enough protein in. The days I don't, I can tell b/c I end up feeling so hungry.

I dont pay attention to fat content either bc I check for trans fat and saturated fats and try to stay away from them. Thanks for the advise! I need to do some protein shopping!
