Go to the doc wednesday so we'll see from there. From my own research on the web it kinda looks like I have sleep maintenance insomnia...I don't have a hard time falling asleep but staying asleep is the issue, I keep waking up every 2 to 3 hours. Not sure why, could be anxiety over having to go back to work next week. I get my test results back wed. so I'll go from there.

Diet Calendar Entry for 24 March 2008:
2711 kcal Activities & Exercise: Exercise machine (slow) - 15 minutes, Walking (moderate) - 3/mph - 35 minutes, Resting - 15 hours and 10 minutes, Sleeping - 8 hours. more...

Good luck with that. It could well be linked with returning to work - that's a big change to build up to. Well done on keeping up with all the exercise, despite the lack of sleep - you're doing great! Leanne :)

I think it could definitely be from anxiety related to returning to work. Going back to work after maternity leave is difficult on so many levels. Anxiety can manifest itself in many ways and sleep interuption is one of them. Try some meditation before bed. Take a hot bath. Clear your mind. Envision yourself sleeping through the night and waking up refreshed. And then give it time. I hope this clears up for you soon.

the hard part with sleep apnea is that you're not supposed to use any sleep aids b/c they make the tissue in your throat too relaxed. That's not good for someone who already has a problem.

With the sleep apnea I know you can't take sleep aids, are you able to take something like melatonin - a natural human hormone? Not everyone produces enough of it and by supplementing this it could help with your sleeping problem.

I'm taking tryptophan which helps calm my mood down but I don't know about melatonin...I'll ask my doc tomorrow.

Good luck w/ the doc visit. I agree that it could be anxiety related to returning to work..it's a tough transition.
