Lavinnia's Journal, 19 May 2010

I feel good this morning.

I was a little late doing my insulin last night, so my blood sugar went up to 149. That's high, but not real high. I briefly thought about some short acting insulin to bring it down, but decided to just go ahead with my new dose of 64 units and take my oral med. An hour later, I was down to 90. Perfect. Blood sugar this morning is 91. Also perfect.

I cut my morning dose to 36 units and was mostly in the low ranges yesterday.

Life is good :)

Good for you Lavinnia! I don't have a problem with my blood sugar but once several months ago I tested it and it was 84. My dad said that was a little low. I am curious to see what it is now that my body isnt taking in any sugar.

84 is a little low, depending on what was going on. If it was a fasting blood sugar, that's perfect. If it had been a long time after your last meal, say 4 hours, that's not bad either. And some people just run on the low side. If you do have an underlying problem like hypoglycemia, this diet will fix it right up.
