One of my doctors is asking me to restrict my eating to an 8 hour period. This doesnt work with my current med schedule which is every 12 hours, with food. Is there really a benefit to this WOE? I can discuss a med change, I just want to be sure the benefit would be worth it in the weight loss department because I would be changing from a medication that is giving good results to a relative unknown.

You could ask your doctor if it would be okay if you did this but had a small amount of mostly fatty food such as half an avocado or a small handful of walnuts with your meds that need to be taken outside the 8 hour window. That might work well enough. There are weight loss and other health benefits to what is known as intermittent fasting, and you don't usually need to eat as much as we tend to eat with meds that are to be taken with food.
