I feel you on that. I skipped gym because of this same feeling. We deserve days like this and moments like this because I know we will regroup, recharge and restart.

Hey Nikki. Like TorStar80 said, this is a life-long change. You've lost a lot of weight and are much healthier aren't you? How to keep the momentum up is the challenge for all of us on this site. I think having lots of easy, nutritious foods in the house helps me. That way I can whip up a meal using seeds/nuts, beans, yogurt, tinned salmon, frozen broccoli, salad, berries, tofu, boiled egg--no need to spend much time prepping. I know you have a family to feed and school lunches to prepare every day so food certainly will continue to need your attention. We can do this Nikki.

It’s the thinking about food 24/7 🤣I just need this day to be over I guess. Tomorrow will start again !!

I have the same problem... I’m hungry but I so tired cooking, counting calories and carbs. I think about food all the time - what’s it going to be for the next meal? Can I have this if I skip that? Will having this put me over limit??? I decided to say ‘to hell with it’ while I was on vacation. I enjoyed the restaurants, the desserts, the lattes and the Indian take out... I loved it! And going back to restrictions and limits is a hugely daunting task. I’m honestly wounding if I’m going to be strong enough this time.

I think for me, constantly thinking about/ evaluating everything is what makes it so exhausting, not the actual work that goes into it

stay strong your more than half way to your goal. You need to win in this war against yourself, i believe in you!!

It can be exhausting. Hang in there. You are doing great! It makes no sense. We have to obsess about food to not obsess about food! Had an interesting discussion today with some very healthy eaters. Most are vegan and are excited to teach me more about nutrition. I asked if any of them had been obese. Nope! I told them that they did not understand my relationship with food. I can weigh the food, count the calories, try to eat protein & fiber, etc..... At the end of the day, I love, truly love, food. So, for me, I will do my best. It's a personal journey and we all must meet our challenges in our own way. Do we share the challenge? Absolutely! Do we share a solution? Absolutely NOT! It's a very personal fact finding mission. We have to team up with our body and brain to decide how to move forward to a healthy future without giving up the joy of food. At least, that's what I believe.

It is a lot of work. For me it’s easier to eat hot Cheetos than to bake potatoes 🥔 but when I look in the mirror and i like what i see I know it is all worth it.

Me too!!!! I am so tired of watching what I eat weighing what I eat wondering what else I can eat. Can’t wait until this lifestyle just comes natural to me.

Be sure to schedule cheat days where you can be free for the day or after awhile take a week off. People who track are more apt to reform their eating long term so we are starting a lifestyle not going on a diet. Make sure you’re eating things you love too. You deserve it!
