BrandonWrites's Journal, 30 August 2018

Well, my doctor’s appointment went well. They were shocked at the weight loss, which ended up being 45 lbs between the two visits. I was told that my heart seems to doing much better and since I’m not experiencing anymore pain that it’s probably reversed itself. They’ll check everything in February when I go back for my physical, but she felt comfortable in clearing me to lift weights and do any other strenuous exercise I choose. If the weight loss continues, they also think I’ll be able to possibly give up my 5 mg high blood pressure pill.

It was some awesome news to hear and today I got back the lab results and all of my numbers made some dramatic drops. Never in my life did I think simply counting calories, not exercising, and not worrying so much about eating more vegetables vs carbs/meats or whatever could result is so much positive changes in my health. Hopefully over the next six months, I can continue to exercise a little more and more, and continue to adapt my eating habits in a more healthy direction, but right now I’m just happy with how everything turned out.

I also got to say, I never expected the response I got from posting my story the other day. That was incredible. Thank you everyone who read it and commented. I felt a lot better going into my doctor appointment knowing there are so many other people out there who understood.

I just read your post and then went and read your original story, sounds like we are in the same boat. I had my annual physical in December and found out I had fatty liver disease, sky high blood pressure and was now diabetic. The doctor told me that if I didn't do something soon things would get worse quick. I was 290 then and I've made it down to 232 now by counting calories also, The weight has leveled off for the past couple of weeks so I have started to lift weights and ride my bicycle to hopefully kick start loosing again. My last checkup my blood work was great, liver is back to normal, blood pressure is way down (sometimes too low) and I'm no longer diabetic. Great job ob your journey!
