I keep reading in people's posts that this diet or that diet is the best to use. I'm not going to knock anyone's diet choice because if it works for them that is great. From what doctors have told me the best way to lose weight is to make sure your burning off more calories than you take in. You can do that by increasing your activity level or take in less calories. Because As I was told no matter how many calories you take in if your not burning them off your going to gain weight it's that simple. Even going to the gym might not make you loose weight because you might just turn the fat you have into muscle so you might weigh the same but your getting in better shape because your toning those areas that had excess fat. I know myself according to this site with my activity level it says I should take in 3100 calories a day. On a typical day i'll take in closer to 3300 - 3400 calories but from what I'm seeing from logging my activity i'm burning off 4000 - 4200 calories a day. A lot of that is for me anyway attributed to my moving to a warmer climate. When I lived in New Hampshire during the winter is when I put on weight because I didn't do a lot outside because of having a lot of snow and it being cold and I wasn't into winter sports. The closest gym was an hour away from where I lived there. So About the only thing I did outside in the winter there was use my snowblower to clean my driveway. The last couple of years I lived there I took back up bowling to try to be a little more active but that even didn't burn off all the calories I would take in. In the summer I would lose some weight because I would go fishing, mow my lawn and do things that needed to be done outside that I couldn't do in the winter because of the ground being covered with snow. Now that I live in Virginia the winter is a lot milder and there isn't nearly as much snow so I'm going to be able to do much more during the winter like going for walks, doing things in my yard, and just generally be more active than I used to be. So far it has worked for me. When I moved here in Dec, 2017 I weighed 256 lbs. My last weight in I'm at 239.8 lbs. a nice 16.2 lb drop in 8 months with 8 lbs of that being after I bought my house so now I have to mow my lawn regularly & getting a job here where I'm doing physical activity, plus just walking around my property is good exercise for me since it isn't level and I'm loosing weight because of it and haven't changed my diet at all just increased my activity level. All I'm saying is if you do the keto diet, atkins, slim fast, weight watchers, what ever and it works for you great I'm glad it does but don't try to tell people that what they're doing that works for them is wrong because every one is different so we're not all going to use the same thing and we can't. I personally couldn't do a diet like Keto because I couldn't fast for a day and only take in liquids and I'll admit that. Let's be supportive of what works for each other and not try to preach to each other that we should do this or that. If someone asks for a suggestion sure go ahead and give it but do it in a way that sounds like a suggestion and not like your preaching that what your doing is the best thing to do and it's what everyone should be doing.
