doozie's Journal, 24 February 2008

I'm never one that can sit down at the dinner table (especially on a Sunday) and eat something different than the rest of the family. I always wish I could...but of course, I sat with my husband and the kids today and ate roast chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, etc. The only good thing I did was not go up for seconds..hopefully I will be back on track tomorrow....moderation, right??

I truly think that moderation is your best friend. It is so hard to maintain a eating plan that is different from your family's, so any way to eat or modify what they are having is a great choice. (It also de-emphasizes the "diet", which I think is positive when you have kids around. I began dieting at a very young age--and everyone around me was always dieting and "cheating")I try to have a "naked" vegetable at meals that I can always have a large portion of (raw veg, broccoli, etc.). Good luck with your week!
