I had a bad day today. But at least I didn't break. I really learned the importance of having some readily available Induction-friendly snacks on me. But how do you carry a snack when all you can eat is meat and a limited about of veggies? Of course, a big part of my problem was that I didn't eat when I could and then later was starving. Part of my problem is a lot of Induction-friendly foods don't appeal to me in the morning-- I just want waffles or a bowl of cereal and also I actually haven't eaten breakfast in years. I got up at about 11 and had to meet my fiance in Berkeley at 3. I took a while getting ready and then had to make some phone calls and stop in a shop before meeting him. Then we just had to run non-stop once I met him, we were on a schedule, and I ended up not eating until much later. I munched a lot of fiber supplements and drank a ton of water. We finally shared a piece of pizza from Fat Slice at about 5:30-- I ate the pepperoni and cheese, he ate the rest. I later got some olives at a shop and broke down on the long drive home and had a McDonald's cheeseburger sans bun and condiments (I want to avoid fast-food-- it's not very satisfying and the only morning this week that I didn't lose weight was after having a double-double protein style from In-N-Out the night before). I splurged and bought some T-bones at the market tonight because I was trying to think of some kind of meat to tempt my appetite. Also some nice asparagus. They were quite tasty but my stomach isn't happy with me now. I would kill for a piece of fruit.
It's funny how I never really appreciated fruit-- I would buy it, but often forgot to eat it. In theory I liked it, but other sweets were just more tempting and easier to eat. Now I would love some cherries, or an apple. Or a nectarine. I think I may go off of Induction sooner than I thought-- maybe just the minimum two weeks. I think it might keep me from going off the program completely. Even then I won't be able to eat the fruit I want. It helps to know it's just two weeks. I think I might periodically switch back from OWL and Induction as things continue.

Oh well, my fault. I just need to eat when I'm hungry. Then temptation won't be so bad.

You are doing great! I understand completely about breakfast being difficult. I wanted a bowl of raisin bran badly a couple of days ago. Eggs used to make me sick but for some reason, I can eat an omlette made in my office cafeteria now. One morning at home I was desparate so I tried some chicken, almonds and blue cheese dressing--it was quite tasty! The almonds helped a lot. I really didn't want to 'enjoy' breakfast--just wanted to get something in my stomach. Yes, breakfast is a problem. Of course the benefit of not much appealing is that we don't eat that much.

I know exactly how you feel. The induction is pretty hard for me also. I hate eggs, but I eat them anyway. I'm constantly looking for different ways to prepare them. I try to always keep in mind I'm not living to eat anymore. I'm eating to live. That helps me. The problem with eating burgers at fast food places or resturants is not knowing how much breading or additives they actually use in preping the meat before it's cooking. For example I used to always use bread crumbs when making hamburgers at home. It helped them keep their shape and also made them more tender. I learned this from a popular resturant owner. For a quick pick you up while on the go try pepperoni. You can carry them with you in a ziploc bag and they do not require refrigeration. Don't give up on the induction period. It is very important for your future weight loss goal. GoodLuck!
