No exercise yesterday...and possibly none today. I'm stressing about this deadline and working around the clock on it...well, except for chatting on the phone for hours!!

Last night I stayed up past 4 am, so got peckish and had to munch on 20-some almonds! However, didn't affect weight much, as i did see a nice drop thanks to the low-carbing yesterday.

Today's meals:
coffee with cream and splenda
atkins bar (3 c)
leftover pasta in pesto (3c?)
brie (2c)
peanut butter, 1 tbsp (2c)
dinner: soy chorizo (5c), veggie patty (2c), tofu (1c)
total: 18 carbs (and very full!!! and been drinking a lot of water too)

Perhaps you are not succeeding because you are not eating induction friendly foods? Peanut butter is forbidden in the first 2 weeks, so are atkins bars, even though they say they are allowed they cause stalls, pasta is also not allowed. During the Atkins Induction Phase you should not consume fruit, bread, pasta, grains, starchy vegetables, flour, sugar or legumes. It is preferable that you do not eat nuts or seeds during induction. It is preferable that most of the 20 grams of carbs. that you eat during the induction phase come from salad greens and other non starchy vegetables. Eat absolutely no fruits, bread, pasta, grains, starchy vegetables, or dairy products other than cheese, cream or butter. Do not eat nuts or seeds in the first two weeks. Foods that combine protein and carbohydrates, such as chickpeas, kidney beans and other legumes(peanut butter) are not permitted during atkins induction phase. I have told you before I know, but I finally succeeded on this diet last fall going from 143 to 117 in a few short months. I had to gradually add carbs back slowly not to gain all my weight back, it did have a negative effect on my health but that's better now. It seems you work under a lot of stress and you go right for the comfort foods(understandable). This diet is just a vicious circle and while it is a quick weight loss, may not be the diet for you. It seems to be you are torturing yourself and adding to an already stressful life.
