Oh boy! I used to enjoy my few glasses of wine every night with my husband, over dinner. He is traveling now, so I went on this undertaking to change my ways. Do I miss my wine? Yes. I love the taste, the flavors, how it interacts with food. And yes, occasionally being overserved, on a weekend night. So, one month in and I had two drinks. Yesterday I hit the wall. Big snow dump headed our way, and I feel like I have cabin fever. So my daughter and I went out for sushi. I had drinks. And I was perfect on my diet- food wise! So very proud! Broccoli and scallops. So we ordered a second drink. Wow! The night was magical! She and I had just a great time solving world problems, just taking like girls. It was really fun. We came home and had another.I’m proud of her, she is a great kid, good moral compass, intelligent. Love her dearly. So lights out by 10:30, that’s late for me. I slept like a dead animal. This morning I have such brain fog, a headache, and just barely slighting around. I had fun! Do I miss cocktails? I miss the ‘society’ of cocktails; but no; I don’t miss my past life. I’m over that. I like who I am now, at 64 becoming! I like me! That’s huge! Thanks to all my new found buds at FS. Your the greatest. Happy day!
