Son is in the house and so are the tempting foods and snacks. But this is my biggest concern: Having been on the Keto diet for 13 months (eliminated 50 lbs!), I suffer severe muscle cramps beginning about 20 minutes after eating any kind of bread or sugar.. I take from a quarter Tsp to a half teaspoon of salt, calcium and magnesium supplements, Sentrum Silver, every day. My potassium levels are already high, according to my blood work. When I told my doctor, she said it's happening with high carb intake while on a strict KETO diet. It's obvious that when I "reward" or have a "replenish day" of indulging in carbs, it come with a high consequence, That is hours of severe foot, leg, hand and arm cramps. Why after searching the web, have I not found a single report of these symptoms? It seems to me that once I go KETO, I can never go back. Anyone else, or is this my seemingly one in a million side effect?

I have been keto about 2 years. This never happened to me. I have not heard about this either. Why would muscles be affected hmmm. Maybe just baby steps of carbs and see how it goes?

That's what I thought too. Of course I'm not that good at baby steps of pizza, or a Sub; it's too delicious. I tried a little cantaloupe, like 4 tbs and 20 mins later while I was using my hands, they started cramping. I guess a capsule with daily meds would be better for that. A time release of low dose would be even better to reintroduce carbs slowly. Thanks for the feedback.
