Holy cow, the scale is doin it's job and finally reflecting my work! Luckily, I'm not battling hunger - at all - and am becoming aware of HOW MUCH I USED TO EAT, and how I INCORRECTLY recorded calories. last night an entry into MFP said "goat cheese, 2 oz, 104 calories." I was like, "YAY! I love goat cheese...
but then, I looked at the package, and it said ONE oz, 113 calories.

Plus, I'm using my food scale. REALLY big deal. I even weighed an apple that I ate so my calories could be accurate.

I should weigh an egg. that'd be interesting. I eat about one hard boiled egg a day. I usually record it as 72 calories. But who really knows? If it's a bigger egg, maybe it's closer to 100 calories. I used to not really care about a difference of 30 calories, but obviously, not caring did me no favors!

Since I've started weighing things, I too have become a better calorie recorder. I already knew there were variances between FS calories and those listed on food containers because even if the UPC code remains the same, it doesn't mean that the packaging did. If something is entered into FS by someone that is using the nutritional information from a package sold in another country, their package may be 6 oz per serving while the package here in the US is only 5.3 oz. You have to pay attention and be ready to make adjustments.
