week 25: (total gain: 15lbs) ugh 😩 I had a measured .5 cup of ice cream late last night🍨.. it was like 10pm. then I woke up at 5am and couldn't go back to sleep.. I should have weighed in then, as it's 7:30a now and I have drunk nearly 32 oz of water between then and now..

yesterday we hiked, but the moment we arrived at our destination, it started downpouring, by the time we drove to a different state park the rain stopped! The dogs were happy! and muddy.... I walked 6k more steps this week then last week. Walking the dogs individually has been a big help, just have to be careful cuz they pull and jerk me. The 6 month old Bloodhound is getting better at following commands. Nova the Pocket Beagle is 2 yrs old, almost 3, and still doesn't care, the nose rules her, until that nose has a gentle leader harness on it. She stops pulling with that on, but tries to pull it off and will get so stubborn she will stop walking completely and give me the squinty eyed stare... a dogs equivalent to a solid "I hate you- get this off me" Its amazing how something so small can have enough strength to drag my 70lb 11yr old across the grass while she was trying to pursue a rabbit! I've seen it. it's insane! looks like no rain today so I hope to walk em again.

222.2 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 2.6 lb a week

I can't walk bigger dogs at all. Once had to walk my friends Lab and it was a nightmare.

Oh my!! Growing up, i had a golden retriever mixed with border collie. She was medium sized. She was so well-behaved I didn't need a leash on her. She happily trotted alongside me. She'd walk me to my friends house and then return home. Let her out all by herself and she'd stay in the yard, no fence. Boy, I quickly learned not all dogs are like that.. especially hounds. It's taken lots of research how to train hounds because I was so used to a retriever, both hunting dogs but total different approach. It also depends on how much effort the owner trains them and what kind of training the dog requires.

I love golden retrievers, such gentle dogs. I've had several, so good with children.

My dog was part hound, his sniffer was more important than my walks. I'd power walk, then take him for his sniff-walk after :-)
