@Runsforfitness…I think my “why” is my success story. I’m motivated to keep my type 2 diabetes at bay for my two granddaughters. Plus, I just felt better eating better overall. I have counted my calories with this app for 2 years and that has taught me a lot! During the beginning of when Covid came, I comfort ate. I ate prob 5,000 to 6,000 calories a day? and ate a lot of junk. I ate healthy too but way too much sugary foods and drinks. I got Covid, ended up in the hospital, that was when I was diagnosed w/diabetes!! I went into a calorie deficit for about 8 months straight, then went into maintenance. No meds now, manage diabetes through diet now. I try to cook all of my meals homemade. I’d say 85% fresh foods, 15% processed. Low carb is my WOE and some meals are carnivore. I do a HIIT and dumbbell routine 2Xs per week (3 in the summer when I’m off from teaching) and take walks. Daily walks in the summer. Weekend walks when school is in. I walk and move at school so much, I’m too tired to take a walk after work. Lately, I’m so drained from teaching, I just come home and collapse in my bed and only do the minimum to get ready for work the next day!!! So, I’m trying to put more focus on the nutrition end of things.

@StormsGirl - I'm a retired teacher, and looking back, I can't imagine how I had so much energy. My supervisor told me that they had no idea how they could replace me, and, you know what? - they couldn't. I was a horticulture teacher teaching in 7 programs, with 7 gardens.
