My husband has decided to lose weight with me. At first, it seemed like a great idea, but now not so much.
I'm slowly becoming frustrated and disheartened. I'm following my diet word-for-word, exercising, getting enough fluid, etc. Meanwhile, he's only made a few changes, he still cheats on the diet, doesn't exercise, etc.
Guess what? He lost 2.5 kg and I lost nothing at all.
How is it that he can eat 3 whole wheat rolls, sausage (which isn't even on the diet), cheese, vegetables, and sneak in a chocolate bar and still lose weight?
I'm eating one roll, some vegetables, and doing an exercise video and my weight doesn't shift?
I know that I shouldn't get angry, but I can't help it. It seems so unfair.
Not to sound dramatic, but it makes me wonder why I keep putting in so much effort, depriving myself, and it's all for nothing??? 😕
/end rant
266.1 lb Lost so far: 30.4 lb.    Still to go: 131.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Hi, even if you’re not seeing improvements on the outside, your inner body will be thankful for the better dietary changes you’ve made! Don’t give up! Keep going and I’m sure you will see changes soon enough Good luck 🤞🏻

Smaller changes always have more long term results! You can still lose weight and treat yourself. If you're eating (e.g.) ~200 calories under your regular intake you should see results eventually :)

Diets can be a bit random peoples metabolisms are all different esp between senses and for sure it's annoying but please don't let it derail your good efforts. it will come good for you if you keep on it.

Generally speaking, men require more calories than women. They have a greater muscle mass and are homonally different. If I ate the same sized portions as my husband I would put on weight. If we diet at the same time, he will lose weight quicker than me whilst eating more. Just focus on what you are doing and remain determined! (And, if you are a lady of a certain age, the difference is even more pronounced BTW)

along with all the things every one else has said, be mindful of when you say depriving yourself. if you truly feel that way, the food choices you're making now might not last long term. there are many different paths to losing weight, I hope you find what works for you! but don't get discouraged :-) we're all rooting for you!
