Scale weight: 191.2

I made a change on how I am going to record my weight. I've been using the scale weight in here and that means I've been having a lot of ups and downs in the weight and I keep wanting the lower number even when I weigh in at a perfectly acceptable weight for my current progress.

Because I want to focus on the direct, I want to make sure whatever I do, I don't worry about every ounce of weight every morning. This is stressful and I'm done.

One the that worked very well last time was for me to record my trended weight. This is the method recommended by "The Hacker's Diet" and I think it's a good one. Technically speaking, I apply a low-pass filter on my weight to remove fluctuations. The weight change is a little bit delayed, but is a much cleaner signal. I don't know why I decided to do it differently this time, I guess I felt it was more honest. Every weigh in I will include the scale weight in the journal.

So today my weight jumped up, but will fall regularly and more consistently as long as I am succeeding on my diet.

I use the libra app and I like it quite a bit. I agree, the later versions aren't as good. I think the developer tried to please the masses by making the trend value have less focus. There are some calculation issues that haven't been fixed for years too. I will see if I can side load the version you have which will make it so much better. I am worried that I might have to re-enter all my data though.

I smashed my phone and tried to import the data to my new one and couldn't quite get it to work. I like to have the setting on 10 days. My weight loss tends to stall out and every so often and it gives me a little extra time to get past it. I am never happy with the number of days to forecast, so I leave that at 7. I feel the same way about the phone keyboards. They are getting harder to find, but I now have a blackberry where the on screen keyboard is pretty good. It also has a physical one, but the keys are way to small for me.

I can have 2 or 3 pounds dif in a day - in the morning after waking up , is when I weigh / Sounds like you a little stress , do what makes you feel comfortable - you are already reacting now , great job , and you'll do great - you'll settle on your style - Go Green!

I don't vary 2-3 - I was just saying it can vary a bit - sorry

Haha, I've done a 3 lbs spike before. Yes, it was getting a little stressful and I was getting the feeling that I started lose focus of the larger picture. At the end of the day, the number doesn't matter nearly as much losing the excess fat and living a longterm healthy lifestyle.

I check the scale once in a while. I'll get to my goal when I get there

Dryphtyr: It's not like knowing a number will help out a whole lot, but I don't want to leave it to chance. I also am counting calories but it hasn't been much of a problem because I'm usually so full I can't eat a whole lot more.

Yeah. The scale does go up and down. For me, I’m tracking every day at the current moment to see if I’m noticing any particular trends since I’m in the last 20 lbs of my initial 150 lbs to goal. There are foods that I’ve wondered about the effects of and meds, etc. So being able to write down my conclusions in my journal for a set number of months with a decent scale should be really helpful while I complete this last push to goal. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I never worried too much about weighing myself before this. Just wasn’t a priority. Losing the weight and feeling healthy was. 🙋🏻
