Never tried the drink mix I try to eat as clean as possible. The sticks are a guide and not as good as the blood test. But the fact that you know your losing is a good sign. The sign that tipped me off, the difference in the smell of my skin. Can't acurately describe it but it's a change that stays when I'm fat adapted.
I don't think the sticks would do anything but encourage you. The slightest color change is a good sign. Good luck Sweetie!

@kaysealove it is called Exogenous Ketones, there are different brands, but that is what all of them say on it. They are pricey, but I thought if it was something that worked it might be worth a try.

Just my two cents-- I wouldn't want to put the ketones drink into my body to "put" my body into ketosis. I'd prefer to eat so that my body goes into that state naturally- it's chemicals doing the work instead of naturally. I'd be scared it would do harm to my body long-term, and also is not sustainable. Anything that you can take and then go eat whatever you want is a bit scary to me. :)

Goodmorning everyone hope everybody keeping healthy

@fitnesswithbridget it isnt something that you drink and can eat whatever you want. You mix it with water and 15-30min later your body is in ketosis, but you still have to eat low/no carb. It wont work unless you follow the diet. Thats why I was wondering about it, because it seems that with the diet your body should already be there, but if it helps get there faster and maintain it better, it might be worth it. I have read that if you slip up, it can help send you back in quickly.

I looked at the drinks, and believe them to be a "cheat" like artificial sweeteners. It turns out that artificial sweeteners activate sugar cravings by using the same receptors in the brain that sugars use, and that defeats weight loss. There is not enough known about the ketone drinks. Since they didn't come naturally, how do they REALLY work? Is there some long term consequence we do not know yet? I am old enough to remember when Fen Phen was a miracle drug. I cried, because I could not afford it. Five years later it was known as a killer.

@moogiemynes thanks for the info! I was looking into them on Amazon, but all the reviews seem to be "paid for" so I dont really trust them. I appreciate the input. I remember Fen-phen, I actually got a free sample of it in the mail and my mom flipped her lid and threw it away!

I’ve been on a Keto diet since 1/1 and I’ve lost 9 lbs. No Keto sticks needed. Read up on symptoms of keytosis and they are all present. As far as the drinks, stay away from sodas, specifically diet drinks. I drink water with an occasional splash of Mio energy mix. You can still lose weight without being in keytosis. Good luck!!!!!

Don't worry about ketosis if you are loosing weight. Just keep doing what you are doing...IT WORKS

The exogenous ketones work. The are expensive! You are instructed to drink a dose in the morning and measure 40 minutes later. You do get an increase in ketone measurement. Here are the brands I have tried: Perfect Keto, taste great, reasonably priced. Keto OS, very expensive, taste great. Julian Bakery InstaKetones, taste great, very reasonable in cost.
Once you are in ketosis (again about three days) if you test well in the morning, no need to take the exogenous ketones.

Congrats on your progress so far. Keto strips are a good place to start if you are as curious as me. I got a small package and still have some left. They are not absolutely necessary as you already know. Anything that helps is good...

I am loosing weight slower than at other times in my life, 62 years old. But, never had a way of eating that satisfied my hunger like keto. Also I'm off medications for high blood pressure. (Don't tell my Dr.)
Food for the first time is not controlling me.
I'm not buying strips or fancy drink mixes, just following the plan. Just take it, day by day, and relax.

If you're following the plan AND you're losing weight (AWESOME!), then don't worry about the Ketosis sticks. Wishing you great success!

The keto sticks are not needed if you're losing weight and staying under your net carb limit. If you plateau you could look into them.
Also, if you go in and out of ketosis a couple times you will start to notice differences in your body (i.e. urine, body smells, mouth tastes) and learn if you're in ketosis that way.
