I can't tolerate processed sugar!!!!
I should make that my new mantra. Its not that I eat a lot of processed foods fullstop, but when I do, I do pay a prixe, especially when it involves sugar :(
I have been tasked to bring a 'pudding' for Saturday night. One person is a coeliac and I don't do dairy. So the day before yesterday I baked my first vegan / gluten free victoria sponge. Yesterday I filled it with homemade strawberry jam and a 'buttercream'. I had a small slice just to see/taste if it is good enough to make for a crowd of 8. And yes, it does pass the test. It's a bit denser than I would like and somehow it tastes of almonds although I didn't use any. Go figure. I used my own mix of rice/tapioca/arrow root and gram flour so I was quite pleased with the result :)
But I could feel the effects almost immediately. I was buzzing. So I thought going traing with James was just coming at the right time. And I did have a great workout. There was just me and 1 other so he gave us a proper beasting: TRX squats, Kettlebell swings and pulling and pushing a weighted 'sledge'. But could I sleep last night? Laid there for ages and all I could do was letting my mind go blank and relax.
Tonight we me friends for a meal and then a pub quiz afterwards. Remember Tina: just because the others have a drink, you don't need one. And I hope they can adapt one of their dishes to make it meat/ dairy free!!!
Happy Days :)
