Yikes... tomorrow I go on vacation to see my parents for a week... however on the way there, I'll be stopping to see some of my college friends and stay with them for a night. These people eat nothing but fast food, I don't even think their fridge has anything in it besides beer... so I'm going to try and do some pre-research on fast food joints and see what I could potentially order if we eat out. Also, since I'm staying for a few days, I'm going to try to bring some of the snacks I eat here at home so that I'm not tempted to go to the gas station and buy a big bag of candy or something...

I'm worried about Friday/Saturday... but once I get home, my mom is doing WW, so I know there will be good food in the house. They are lucky because they have some really nice fruit markets by them open year round, so they always get good healthy food.

I think I am going to take my Wii, and show my mom. Maybe we can work out together! Haven't figured that out yet, but still.

Hope it's going to be an easy week. I may have to ask my parents to go shopping for some of the goodies I tend to snack on, to make it easier for me, but I'll see when I get home.

You'll do fine with some pre-planning. Have you seen those books, Eat This, Not That? Lots of good suggestions on what you can eat at most fast food restaurants. Send private message if you have particular fast food places in mind. And YES. Take a snack cooler with you full of water, cut up veggies and some pieces of fruit, some cheese snacks like my personal favorite - Bonbel Babybell cheese. Full of good fats that make you feel full, great taste, decent amount of protein for 70 calories. And portable : )Or take along a few protein bars - not the "healthiest" food in terms of processing, but the Premier Nutrition ones are delicious, 30 grams of protein, taste enough like a candy bar to stop that craving with no high fructose corn syrup, and when you drink a bottle of water along with it, feel pretty full for a couple of hours. Worth a try. As for the beer...well, you gotta live a little! You're only young once. Or pick up some MGD 64's. Actually not bad for a light beer and probably half the calories of Bud Light, which is also decent for a light beer. Or drink wine and just know you're going to probably go over your calories for the day. Whatever you do, don't put yourself down if you mess up a little. Try to listen to your inner dialogue and see what messages you're telling yourself (usually without even consciously knowing!) And besides, you'll have the week with your mom and dad, eating healthy foods and working out together to make up for it if you do mess up. Have a blast while you're gone!
