Granmawig1's Journal, 14 August 2017

Well after a lazy weekend it's back to the morning walk and a swim with the grandchildren later today. Luckily they are old enough to do their own thing and leave me to my half a mile swim.
Managed to lose a few pound this week so hoping to keep it up. Have to start addressing the carbs though.Too much home made bread!

Granmawig1, I miss making my bread. I have given up eating bread, since beginning this journey, but I do miss it. I have notice my hubby doesn't eat nearly as much bread as he used to, since I don't and have been losing some. Maybe he is being lead by example? Anyway, those carbs are my biggest foe, so I just eliminate them from my food, by not eating them. I feel so much better too, by not eating them. I have so much more energy, it makes me a firm believer in low carb food plans. Good luck!!!!

Carbs are my downfall too, they seem to be in absolutely everything and apparently convert to sugar. Ugh ugh! I try to avoid sugar as far as possible but I don't think I can give up my bread completely.

Well, I do eat the occasional piece of bread, I just quit making it, because when it is fresh out of the oven I need to eat it. Just like that, with butter, lots and lots of butter. So, that is why I don't make it anymore. Of course Winter is bad for me, as I think I need to make it, so as long as I stay busy and don't think about it, I am good!! LOL Carbs are bad, really, really bad, for me anyway. I just do my very best to not eat a lot of carbs and if I do I try harder to eat the complex carbs, like with fruit and veggies.

I'd forgotten all about winter bread baking (I used to make my own pizza dough many nights after work, as well) but giving up simmering pots of beans from this season is going to be hard in the cold. They're as carby as bread is, it seems. :-( Swimming sounds wonderful.
