Came to Indy for business on Friday - stayed the weekend, as that is where my second-oldest daughter lives. Good timing, as the 31st is her birthday! It is rare when a work trip fits so well into my personal life...
She is very fit. We worked out for an hour and half on Saturday, which included my running 5 miles. I wanted off the treadmill much sooner than that, but I didn't want to ruin her work out, so I kept going. Amazing how a bit of pressure can keep you going.
Afterwards we shopped for hours. It was a struggle to eat right, as wanted to get small meals in every couple of hours, but the choices were... fast food, pretzels, chocolate, etc. Finally - found pistachios at a Dick's sporting good, which I felt comfortable eating.
Speaking of shopping, I tried on clothes. The last year or two, I was firmly in a 12. Not all 12s fit, but most did. Some of my skirts were 14s. I purchased an Ann Taylor suit yesterday... in a size 8! I'm 5'2", and other than it being too long, it fits well. I've been very strict with diet and exercise since making up my mind to do this on 12/26. Yesterday all those times I declined food, drink, etc., made it all so worth it. I'm about half way to where I want to go, and am determined to stay strict so that I get there sooner rather than later.
