BLACK COFFEE
Brand and Flavor suggestions?
well... I do still have a tiny bit of milk in there. I've been weaning myself off of sugar and milk in my coffee and have now completely done away with adding sugar into my drinks. The milk, actually, was just to cool down the temp so I could drink it without waiting. But... now I'm wondering... do I REALLY need coffee at all? I do want caffeine... For many it's the number 1 pre-workout. It's not really enjoyable anymore though. I mean, I'm cool with it just being.... being....
Someone at work gave me a brand to try. Says it will bring the natural sweetness and flavor of the coffee, making it enjoyable again.
Anyone else do black coffee and have a favorite?

It's part the coffee and part how you brew it. Get a French press or even a Chemex. it takes a bit longer but once you have it down to a science the taste is much smoother. an instant brewer or even drip heat the water too hot and it sits on a hot plate which scalds the coffee. It may sounds contradictory but more coffee gives you a smoother flavor. If you over extract from coffee that is when it gets really bitter. If you have more grinds it will keep you from over extracting. You could also make cold brew. Take a pound of coffee dump it in a large airtight container add 2 liters (8-8.5 cups) of water and stir and cover. Put it in the fridge for 12-14 hours sloshing it around every few hours. Strain it and you will have smooth, strong black coffee. can be diluted or drink as is.

Yes. Mt Hagen instant coffee. You will be so suprised at how smooth it is. You get it at whole foods, earth fare, other organic groceries. I prefer it over any brew coffee.

I drink black coffee. . Seattle's Best Dark Intense, and I usually put a small pinch of cinnamon over the coffee grounds before brewing.

Stop....if you can cut out coffee for ever...you are on the right road. Think of the health benefits. I wish I had the courage to join you. But...you need to replace it with something...how about water! or green tea?

ohhh, hadn't thought of putting cinnamon over the grounds... I wonder about vanillin... hmmmmm... gonna experiment :)

Have added quite a bit of water to my diet. In fact, water is all I drink now... except for one coffee while I get ready for work. MAYBE a refill as I'm heading out the door. Then maybe once a week... I'll have a glass of almond milk before bed. I haven't had the willpower yet to try my tea without sugar.. so I just haven't had tea.. but I love Veggies idea of now, trying to add something while brewing...

I may try the vanilla too :) I drink a lot of water, and like you, occasionally have a glass of almond milk before bed. I do like my black coffee, though.

Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, hands down. Got hooked after I went there on holiday and drank about as much of the coffee as I did rum. Ok, maybe more rum...
